“I would prefer even to fail with honor than win by cheating.”
-Sophocles
This quote means that it is always best to lose with honor rather than to win by cheating your way through this event. For example, if you fail or lose during an event let’s say a soccer game. It okay because you lost and failed to win this game but you didn’t break the rules. You did what you had to, to try and make the effort of winning this game. You followed the rules but you didn’t win.it’s fine. On the other hand if you won because you cheated and broke the rules then that is really a big shame on you because you chose to win by taking the easiest way out. You prefer to not go through the process of achieving it all and building your athletic performance by just cheating your own way out through this process.
