This statement specifically tells you that in order to survive peer pressure during your child hood or even adult hood, is by having the enough courage to say NO to everything that makes you feel uncomfortable  or makes you feel like its wrong. For example your friends are trying to encourage you to smoke weed with them and you just don't feel it or like doing it at the moment, you have to let them know and make sure they understand how you feel about it. Example #2 if your friend is forcing you to lie and spread some gossip around and you know its wrong, well then have the enough courage to to face the truth even if it means that you have to stand alone to do it. Don't be afraid, just do it, and make sure you have the enough courage, integrity, and dignity.
