Memorial Day
  1. What is Memorial Day?
It is a day on which those who died in active military service are remembered.

Traditionally observed on May 30 but now observed on the last Monday in May.
  1. What are some ways to show honor and respect on Memorial Day?
    1. Make a soldier’s day by writing a thank you card or note to send overseas
    2. Visit a local veteran’s cemetery, or war memorial
    3. Visit and take cookies to a nearby veteran’s hospital
    4. Go to a Memorial Day Parade or watch the National Memorial Day Parade on television
    5. Enjoy freedom by spending time with your family

    2. More than 36 million people will travel at least 50 miles from home this Memorial Day
  3. What are a few things you will do on Memorial Day to show honor and respect?
It is most likely that i will enjoy my freedom and spend time with my family.  

  1. Reflection: I think Memorial Day is a great way to show honor and respect to those who died in the active military service. I learned that this day is also known as “Decoration Day.” It was usually observed on the date of May 30, 1971 but now it is observed on the last Monday in May.
