Veterans Day is public holiday held on the
anniversary of the end of World War 1.
When
is it?
It’s on November 11.
What
is the purpose of Veterans Day?
Its purpose is to honor US veterans and victims of
all wars.
Ways
to show honor and respect on Veterans Day.
· Place flowers/flags on the grave of veterans
· Proudly display your American flag
· Order pizza, on 11/11 for every order placed, Papa John’s will donate $1 to the USO
· Visit a local retirements home and chat with some elderly veterans who will share their stories
· Display a yellow ribbon on your clothes, car, or around a tree.
· Or wear red, white, and blue

Facts:
- Disney made films for during World War II, for each branch of the United States government.
- Approximately 90% of Disney employees worked in the making of propaganda and training videos during World War II.
- Today, there exist about 1.6 million female veterans.
- The median income for veterans in 2009 was approximately $35,000 a year.
- California has more U.S. military veterans than any other state.
Reflection:
I truly
feel grateful for all those soldiers who fought for our freedom by serving and
protecting it not ever caring whether they were going to die or receive
anything in exchange of this act. Although not many people do something on this
day to honor and show some respect to our veterans, I think it’s really sad because
without their participation we would still all be enslaved trying to fight for
our own freedom. Once again thank you veterans and enjoy your day.
