Health Sciences Librarian
Duties &Responsibilities: A health science librarian provides access to medical information
through books, pamphlets, journals, tapes, multimedia presentations, and the
Internet. They also help health providers, patients, and students sort through
the vast amount of information available.
Salary: $58,000
Education: A master’s degree in library science is mandatory. Mandatory
courses include scientific literature, biomedical communication, bibliographic
resource use, library organization, and management and standard cataloging systems.
Reflection: I would not like to be a H.S.L because this career or profession
seems so frustrating. I am the kind of person who is patient; I tend to get
irritated fast. If I am going to have to explain to those who need my help and
are going through the face of neglect, I think I wouldn’t be able to handle it
at all.
