Duties and
Responsibilities: An
ambulance dispatcher is a 9-1-1 operator or
public safety telecommunicator,
someone who answers emergency and non-emergency calls.
They also:
- Determines the type of emergency and its location
- Based on agency procedures, they decide what to respond
- They give over-the-phone medical instructions meanwhile the emergency personnel arrives
- They keep detailed record calls and communicate with other area communication centers
- And they also monitor all police, fire, and ambulance units
Salary: $36,300 - $56,580
Education: Are required to have a high school diploma. They must
pass a written
exam and a typing test. All
applicants must pass a background check, lie detector,
hearing and vision test and most
important a drug test. Must have computer,
customer-service, and Spanish
speaking skills.

No I would not like to be one because this job seems
boring, complicated, and frustrating. And it's basically just sitting in a office
all day, watching yourself get fat and old. And also it requires to put up with
peoples attitude at times and it's something I don't stand nor tolerate at all.
