This quote means that when you do wrong you don't ever gain anything from it. In other words, you will never be rewarded with good things in life if you do wrong. On the contrary you will be rewarded with negative things in life that will only bring lots of negativity, guilt and failure to your life. For example, if you see someone drop there money in the street and you see they are in a total rush. Like they look so desperate, and the only you do instead of returning to the owner you decide to keep it and live life. You obviously didn't even bother to stop and think whether that guy really needed his money for something really important. You will not be be rewarded with something right in life because you did what was wrong and not right. So you should feel ashamed for yourself. You should feel dirty and filthy.
