Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

Duties & Responsibilities: A D.M.S operates special imaging equipment to create images or to conduct tests. The images and test help physicians assess and diagnose medical conditions.

• They prepare patients for procedures by taking a patient’s medical history and answering any questions about the procedure
• They prepare and maintain diagnostic imaging equipment  

Salary: $62,540

Education: Both an associate's or bachelor's degree

Demand for this Profession: It is projected to grow 22% from years 2014-2024, much faster than the average occupations.

   

Reflection: I would not like to major on this medical career but it seems like an interesting one. It would be nice to show some parents their first baby image while being in the womb.
