"I Wasn't Trying To Leave A Legacy. I Was Trying To Do What Was Right."
-Dean Smith
What this quote is trying to say is that it doesn't matter what you do to leave a legacy everyone can remember you about. What matters is that by you doing whats right people will then only remember you as a good sympathetic person you are. Just like Dean Smith he never cared about winning and competing his intentions were never to leave a legacy. On the other hand all he ever tried doing was to always do what's right. By doing this he received so many good things he truly thought he didn't deserve but everyone admire him for being the way he was. Everyone single one of his players were proud to have ever met this sympathetic man who not only helped them physically but also emotionally and personally. This man here always had everyone's respect. He was loved and admired for his honesty and loyalty, he wasn't the type who was ambitious and all he cared about was winning and competing. After all, all that matters is doing what's right.
