Always
"Right is right, even if everyone is against it;
 and
Wrong is wrong, even if everyone is for it."
-William Penn
What this statement is specifically trying to tell you is that you no matter what you have to always choose the right even if it means you getting laughed at or standing out alone. A perfect example of this would be what Mr. Haymore said. Lets say your friends invite you to a party and you choose to go its okay for you to go. But there are 100 people at this party with you it will be 101, and every single person is drinking and you choose  to not drink it, and you are being teased about it, it's alright don't worry about its you and only only who feels good about yourself for standing out in over all 100 people. But here if you choose the wrong and decide to drink you, you will feel bad about yourself and have to deal with the consequences of drinking until unconscious, Next morning be ready to deal with a major headache and lots of vomiting.
