This statement specifically tells you that your studies must come first before anything else. Just like Pete, he didn't have time to kick it with his friends he always choose to spend his time wisely by practicing and working on his flexibility to work on being a professional gymnast. This actually took him to great success in his life. He ended up winning gold Olympic Medals and also scoring a perfect 10.
